Through our involvement with the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and other charitable initiatives, Pioneer Cold helps to alleviate hunger and enhance the lifestyles of the less fortunate.
Green Initiative – What We Do
Pioneer Cold is committed to the sustainability of our environment. We limit what we put in the landfill and have created a culture of recycling throughout the company. The following details our recycling program.
Corrugated – All corrugated scrap that is generated throughout our process is collected, baled and shipped to paper mills that are making brown paper towels, fiber cores, and corrugated boxes.
Stretch Film– All stretch film is collected and shipped to companies that are making composite decking and plastic trash bags.
Office Paper– All office paper is collected and shipped to paper mills that are making toilet paper, tissue and paper towels.
Usuable Full Goods of Soft Drinks– When we have product that the customer wants to be destroyed, the plastic bottles are pierced, the liquid is disposed of in an environmentally sound manner and the plastic bottles are recycled. The bottles (PET) are shipped to companies that are melting the plastic and making beverage containers.
We continually look for ways to expand our recycling initiative and reduce the trash that we are sending to landfills.
